This engaging workshop, delivered by The School of Retail Management at TMU and Granularity, a trend forecasting AI platform, will offer students the opportunity to leverage AI to predict and shape future retail fashion trends. By immersing the students in the fascinating intersection of data trends and machine learning, students will get first hand experience in learning how to make impactful decisions to enhance the customer experience.

About the Speaker

Dr. Janice Rudkowski, Assistant Professor, Ted Rogers School of Retail Management, TMU
Janice is an Assistant Professor in the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. She educates future retail leaders, leverages technology to cultivate curiosity and researches innovative retail spaces. Prior to academia she held brand, licensing and category management roles at Unilever, Mattel and Bayer. She integrates her extensive industry experience by collaborating with industry partners to develop experiential learning opportunities for her students. Janice led the development of the Level 1 Professional Category Management Accreditation Program at TMU as well as the design and development of a virtual reality Circle K Convenience Store immersive learning experience (funded by eCampus Ontario). Janice was the recipient of the 2021 Dean’s Teaching Award at the Ted Rogers School of Management.

Shereen Al Tamimi, Instructor, Ted Rogers School of Retail Management, TMU
Shereen Al Tamimi is an instructor at the Ted Rogers School of Retail Management. Shereen is a double alumnus and a PhD candidate in Industrial Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her current research focuses on the intersection of predictive risk assessment models to optimize decision making. Prior to academia, Shereen worked for over 18 years in retail and retail-related industries in various leadership roles. She worked on strategic initiatives to iconic Canadian brands and served as a consultant to many organizations to drive innovation and growth.

Tali Remennick
Tali Remennik is a seasoned professional at the intersection of artificial intelligence and forecasting. As the Founder of Granularity, Tali has charted a vision in the world of trends forecasting. Granularity uses the power of AI to predict emerging trends based on data processed from social media and search platforms. Formerly a Management Consultant at Accenture, she played a pivotal role in crafting and deploying data science use cases for retailers across North America.

Robert Fournier
Robert Fournier is a data engineer and front-end deployment specialist with a unique background in various industries. His journey into the world of coding and AI is unconventional, as he transitioned from diverse professional roles to self-teaching his way into a successful career in tech.
